Warranty conditions

For our STERNGLAS watches we give you a guarantee of 2 years. Our two-year-warranty covers material and workmanship defects. In case of warranty we grant you the following services at our choice: 

  • reparation of the watch free of charge or
  • replacement of the defective watch by equivalent item free of charge (if applicable, successor model, in case initial watch is not available anymore).

Start date of the warranty period is the date of purchase.

The guarantee applies only to consumers as defined by § 13 BGB (German Civil Code), not to entrepreneurs defined by § 14 BGB. According to § 13 BGB, a consumer is a natural person who concludes a legal transaction for purposes which cannot be predominantly attributed to either their commercial or their self-employed professional activity.

The warranty does not cover damage to our watches due to:

  • This warranty is void if the watch has been damaged by accident, negligence, unauthorized service, or other factors not due to defects in material or workmanship.
  • Improper handling and negligence (e. g. throwing, dropping)
  • Use of force (e. g. hit, kick, drop)
  • Environmental impacts (e.g., moisture, water, dust, fire, heat, cold)
  • Failure to comply with instruction manual or/and of care instructions (e. g. failure to avoid contact with water)
  • Unauthorized service and adjustments
  • Normal wear and tear of material used

Traces of wear visible on the watch's strap and housing are considered to be normal appearances of usage. The effect of sweat on the strap is varying from person to person due to the of the varying acidity.

In case of a guarantee claim, you must forward us the watch and a copy of the order confirmation, in order to check he warranty requirements. To prevent any damage to the watch during transport, please use a suitable packaging.

Provided that you are entitled to a warranty claim, we fulfill the warranty service within 30 days after dispatch of the watch. Within the scope of the warranty service we bear the costs for the shipment of the item to us and for the return to you. The costs will be refunded by us within the warranty fulfillment.

We point out that your legal rights concerning the purchase contract concluded with us are not restricted by this warranty. Irrespective of this warranty, you are entitled to warranty rights against us in case of defective purchase.

This guarantee is subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
