Marus 2.0 Edition Küste. The power of the sea, reinterpreted.

With the Marus 2.0 Edition Küste (German for "coast"), we introduce a limited special edition that translates the rugged character of the shoreline into a powerful, timeless diver watch design. Inspired by rough seas, deep water, and clear air, it combines functional strength with a distinctive maritime color palette.

For us at Sternglas, "Küste" represents our Hamburg roots and the clarity of the northern horizon. Limited to 1,999 pieces and individually numbered, each watch becomes a unique piece on the wrist.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Diver's Watch Design with Heritage

The design of the Marus 2.0 follows a long tradition of functional diver’s watches developed for professional use since the 1950s. One of its defining features is the unidirectional rotating bezel with 120 clicks and a 60-minute scale, allowing divers to keep precise track of elapsed dive time.

The bezel turns only counterclockwise to prevent accidental extension of dive time, a safety feature that remains a hallmark of true diver’s watches to this day.

Maximum legibility. No compromises

The deep blue dial reflects the depth of the sea and is complemented by a matching aluminum bezel. Generous application of Luminova in white and orange ensures excellent readability day and night.

The signal orange seconds hand adds a precise accent and reinforces the instrument driven character of the watch. Wider indices, refined hands, and an enlarged luminous area provide clear orientation in all conditions.

The result: a watch that performs just as well in daylight as it does in the dark.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

Moin! I'm Dustin Fontaine, Founder of STERNGLAS...

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

Find out what makes our timepieces so special by reading on.

The engine on your wrist: The TMI NH35

The NH35 is a bidirectional automatic movement featuring a patented Magic Lever system that simplifies the winding mechanism and improves efficiency. This system reduces winding time while extending the power reserve with fewer components.

The rotor generates energy in both directions, allowing the watch to start even with minimal movement. The shock resistant Diashock system protects the movement from impacts. In addition, the hacking seconds function allows for precise time setting by pulling the crown.

With a power reserve of up to 41 hours and a date function, the NH35 mechanical movement is a reliable companion for everyday wear.

Maximum comfort. Thoughtfully engineered.

Experience ultimate freedom on your wrist. The Marus 2.0 Edition Küste features our premium FKM fluoroelastomer strap in a deep navy blue. Engineered for durability, this material is completely waterproof and tough, yet remarkably soft to the touch for superior comfort.

The textured underside prevents skin adhesion, complemented by a precision-engraved stainless steel buckle. Thanks to the integrated quick-release system, you can swap your style in seconds – no tools required.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

Manual

What exactly does waterproof to 20 atm mean?

The specification 1 bar usually corresponds to 1 atm or 10 m test pressure. At 20 bar, a water column of 200 metres is assumed.

The specification therefore does not refer to a real diving depth, but to the test pressure under laboratory conditions.

With a water density of 20 bar, the Marus is suitable for snorkelling, swimming and scuba diving.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

Is the bezel rotatable?

Yes, you can rotate the bezel anti clock wise.

By adjusting the zero mark (the triangle at 12 o'clock), divers can precisely measure the duration of their dive.

What does "Küste" mean?

"Küste" is the German word for coast. For Sternglas, it is more than just a geographic term; it symbolizes our home in Hamburg and our deep connection to the North. It stands for the fresh breeze, the vast horizon, and the maritime lifestyle. By engraving "Küste" on the Marus 2.0, we bring a piece of the German coastline to your wrist—no matter where in the world you are.
