Naos Automatic XL: The stylish companion for any occasion

The Naos model is a classic dress watch that embodies the Bauhaus style like no other STERNGLAS timepiece. With a diameter of 42 mm, the Naos Automatik XL offers an elegant solution for strong wrists and is the perfect companion for everyday wear.

Due to high demand from the STERNGLAS community, we developed the Naos XL Automatic – a larger version with a diameter of 42 mm for broader wrists. This fulfills the wish of those who found the 38 mm Naos Automatic too small, providing them with the perfect dress watch.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

One of the standout features of the Naos Automatik XL is its understated elegance despite its larger diameter. The dark brown premium calf leather strap wraps comfortably around your wrist. Thanks to the quick-change system, the strap can be swapped out in an instant, giving the Naos Automatik XL a fresh look with the bold and expressive link bracelet or one of the colorful nylon straps.

Mechanical movement for tech enthusiasts


The rotor's movements drive the automatic movement (completely battery-free).

A notable highlight: The seconds hand, powered by 21,600 A/h (vibrations per hour), glides smoothly across the dial.

A power reserve of 42 hours and a date function make the mechanical movement a reliable companion in everyday life.

Premium leather strap, Milanese mesh, or a striking link bracelet?

In the middle of the Bavarian Forest, a small leather manufactory has been producing leather goods at the highest level for decades.

It is punched, tanned and sewn with much love and care. Most of it is still done by hand.

The velvety soft calfskin and the outstanding workmanship of our specially developed premium strap create a noticeably pleasant feeling when worn.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

Can I order the watch with a different strap?

We will be happy to check whether we can realise your desired combination. Please contact us by e-mail at support@sternglas.com and we will help you personally.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

...our Naos Automatic was raised from the eaves by 654 supporters via crowdfunding in March 2019? The supporters actively participated in the development of the model.

Since our foundation through a Kickstarter campaign in 2016, the close exchange with our customers has been part of our DNA.
