A Maritime Icon Returns: Hamburg Automatik Edition Küste 2.0

One of the most popular editions in the Hamburg collection is back. The Hamburg Automatik Edition Küste 2.0 builds on the maritime character of its predecessor, refined with thoughtful new details.

The deep blue dial, orange accents, and distinctive edition strap evoke the colors of the coast. The highlight is revealed on the case back: a custom designed rotor inspired by a classic ship’s wheel carries the edition’s maritime story all the way into the movement.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Maritime Design Down to the Details

The deep blue satin dial draws inspiration from the colors of the coast. Orange accents on the seconds hand and luminous markers add subtle contrast, while silver hands with white Luminova ensure excellent readability.

The 42 mm case is crafted from polished and brushed 316L stainless steel and protected by double domed, double anti reflective sapphire crystal. A polished frame around the date window at 6 o’clock completes the thoughtfully detailed design.

A Rotor That Continues the Story

Automatic watches come to life through movement. With every motion of your wrist, the rotor moves and powers the mechanical Miyota 8215 automatic movement. Fully wound, it offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours.

For the Edition Küste 2.0, the rotor was completely redesigned. Its shape is inspired by the wheel of a classic ship, while the deep blue PVD coating echoes the color of the dial. Even a glimpse of the movement becomes part of the watch’s maritime story.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

The engine on your wrist: the Miyota 8215

The Miyota 8215 automatic movement has been produced by the renowned manufacturer Miyota since 1977. Since then, it has established itself as robust and reliable in the watch world.

A 42-hour power reserve and a date function make the mechanical movement a reliable companion in everyday life.

Authentic Vintage Look with a Distinctive Patina

The strap is crafted from black Italian vintage leather and features a distinctive cut edge and characteristic two tone pull up effect. Over time, the leather develops a unique patina through everyday wear, giving each strap its own unmistakable vintage character.

Thanks to the integrated quick release system, the strap can be changed in seconds. No tools required.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

Any questions left?

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

Did you know that... ?

...a ship’s wheel at sea never truly stands still, even when the ship is holding its course? Wind, waves, and currents require constant small adjustments.

The Hamburg Automatic Edition Coast 2.0 takes inspiration from this very idea. Its custom designed rotor is modeled after a classic ship’s wheel and moves with every motion of your wrist.
