For Modern Explorers: The Hamburg Automatik Edition Marine

Full speed ahead: The Hamburg Automatik Edition Marine is our newest comrade in the STERNGLAS collection. This elegant timepiece expands our popular Hamburg Automatik series, now shining in luxurious gold tones.

The exclusive design is inspired by the aesthetic uniform of a naval officer - clearly recognizable in the bold ocean blue paired with golden accents and insignia. A striking contrast that immediately catches the eye in this exceptional timepiece.

The result is a stylish statement and a true eye-catcher for any occasion. A versatile companion that suits both formal and casual settings.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

A Stylish Companion: The Hamburg Automatic Edition Marine

The deep blue dial, complemented by gold and orange needle hands, creates an impressive depth. The double-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects against unsightly scratches, preserving the maritime elegance for years to come. The timepiece is also water-resistant up to 5 bar.

The robust case, made from corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel with a durable PVD gold coating, gives the Hamburg Automatik Edition Marine its luxurious appearance. With a 42mm diameter and a sleek 6mm case height, this watch offers a refined and comfortable design. Inside, the precise Miyota 8215 movement ensures reliable performance. The engraving on the case back symbolizes seafaring adventures and maritime heritage.

The Hamburg Automatik Edition Marine embodies sophisticated elegance in an extraordinary timepiece - perfect for those who are sailors at heart, or naval officers in spirit.

Edition Marine – A Tribute to the Golden Age of Seafaring

The Edition Marine celebrates the era of the great sailing ships – a time when brave captains and their crews set out to conquer the world’s oceans. The intricately engraved caseback features a majestic windjammer on the open sea, paying tribute to the legendary merchant ships that once departed from Hamburg to distant shores.

Inspired by maritime tradition, this timepiece blends classic design with expert craftsmanship. It’s not just an elegant watch, but a symbol of adventure, determination, and the enduring spirit of seafaring.

Make a statement – with a watch that carries history.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

Can I order the watch with a different strap?

We will be happy to check whether we can realise your desired combination. Please contact us by e-mail at support@sternglas.com and we will help you personally.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

Did you know that... ?

... Hamburg and timekeeping have been closely linked for centuries?

In seafaring, knowing the correct time meant arriving at the right place at the right time.

By converting time intervals into longitude, distances to the home port or destination port were determined. This enabled sailors around Hamburg to navigate safely through the waters.
