The finest Hamburg to date: Hamburg Pro Automatik

For the past five years, the Hamburg Automatik has been a cornerstone of our collection and the ideal everyday companion for many. To mark its anniversary, we now present its most refined form: the new Hamburg Pro Automatik.

It combines timeless Bauhaus design, premium materials, and precise watchmaking in a perfectly balanced composition. With a case that is 25% slimmer, even more comfortable, and technically enhanced, it bridges the history and future of the Hamburg in a timepiece that inspires at the highest level.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Sleeker. More elegant. More comfortable.

At just 9 mm in height, the Hamburg Pro Automatik is 25% slimmer than the original Hamburg Automatik. Polished and brushed surfaces create a refined appearance and a visually slimmer silhouette. The enlarged crown, developed directly from community feedback, makes winding and setting the time especially easy and comfortable.

Mechanical movement for true enthusiasts

For its anniversary, the Hamburg receives a transparent sapphire caseback secured with six screws for the very first time. It reveals the high-grade Miyota 9015 premium automatic movement, beating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) for exceptional precision and a smoothly sweeping seconds hand.

The exclusively finished black PVD rotor with gold STERNGLAS engraving makes the watch just as striking from the back as it is from the front. This is a detail usually reserved for much higher-priced timepieces. Thanks to the slim construction of the movement, the case measures only 9 mm in height, offering even greater comfort on the wrist.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

A premium movement for your time: The Miyota 9015

The Miyota 9015 is one of Japan’s most renowned automatic movements. It runs entirely without batteries, powered solely by the natural motion of your wrist. Each movement sets the rotor in motion, generating the energy that keeps the watch ticking.

With a high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the 9015 ensures precise timekeeping and a smooth, sweeping motion of the second hand. According to Miyota, its accuracy ranges between -10 and +30 seconds per day.

Thanks to its slim construction, the movement allows for elegant, slender watch cases without compromising on durability or reliability. At Sternglas, every timepiece is carefully regulated and tested after assembly to guarantee lasting performance.

Interchangeable strap for every occasion

The Hamburg Pro Automatik Heritage is available with a leather strap, an elegant Milanese bracelet, or the innovative SuperSlim metal bracelet.

Thanks to the practical quick-release mechanism, each strap can be changed in seconds and effortlessly adapted to your personal style.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

Can I order the watch with a different strap?

We will be happy to check whether we can realise your desired combination. Please contact us by e-mail at support@sternglas.com and we will help you personally.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.
