An Award-Winning Bestseller. A Strictly Limited Edition.

As a true bestseller and recipient of the prestigious iF Design Award, the Naos Automatic has become an absolute classic. In Sternglas’s tenth year, the Edition Bauhaus X reimagines this iconic success.

Strictly limited to just 500 pieces worldwide per color, this series focuses on an experimental interplay of light, geometry, and contrast. Every single timepiece features its unique limited-edition number engraved on the caseback, verified by an included certificate of authenticity.

Choose your edition in red, yellow, or blue and secure a piece of Sternglas history for your wrist.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

The Bauhaus Color System and Premium Details.

The Edition Bauhaus X impresses with a thoughtful design where your chosen accent color is harmoniously integrated into three key elements: the second hand, the strap's contrast stitching, and the tinted exhibition caseback.

Crafted from polished 316L stainless steel, the case provides a refined structure and a slim silhouette with an ultra-low profile of just 12 mm. It hugs the wrist perfectly, proving that true presence can lie in subtle understatement.

The First Naos with Full-Surface Luminova.

For the very first time, a Naos model features a fully luminous dial. In combination with the applied geometric indices, darkness reveals a sharp contrast between surface and depth of shadow. The minimalist dial is protected by double-domed and double-antireflective sapphire crystal, ensuring premium legibility.

To actively charge this luminescence at any time, a sleek UV flashlight is included with every watch. A fascinating experience that brings the experimental spirit of Bauhaus straight to your wrist.

Exclusive edition accessories included

Every Naos Edition Bauhaus X comes with a black cotton edition pouch and a STERNGLAS UV lamp. Use it to recharge the luminous dial whenever you like and experience the special effect of this edition again and again.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

Moin! I'm Dustin Fontaine, Founder of STERNGLAS...

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

The Engine of Your Edition: The Miyota 8215

Inside the Edition Bauhaus X beats the proven Miyota 8215 automatic movement. Valued worldwide for decades for its robustness and reliability, this caliber embodies the philosophy of functional design. With a power reserve of up to 42 hours and a subtle, color-matched date function at 6 o'clock, this mechanical heart is an absolutely dependable companion for everyday life.

Through the tinted glass of the six-times screwed caseback, you can watch the mechanics come to life, powered solely by your own movement.

Italian Leather. A Versatile Look.

Crafted from the finest Italian vintage pull-up leather, the strap features color-coordinated contrast stitching that underscores the watch's cohesive color concept. Over time, the premium leather develops a unique, individual patina, maturing into a true one-of-a-kind piece. Thanks to the integrated quick-release system, the Edition Bauhaus X effortlessly adapts to any occasion. The strap can be swapped in seconds completely without tools.

Whether you prefer the organic warmth of leather or the cool elegance of a stainless steel mesh bracelet, the look is entirely up to your personal style.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

Did you know that... ?

...Bauhaus students were driven out because their avant-garde light parties were too wild?

The Bauhaus parties in Weimar and Dessau were legendary, deeply experimental, and an absolute nightmare for the conservative neighborhood. The ultimate highlight was the Lantern Festival. Bauhaus artists marched through the streets in the dead of night carrying custom-made, geometric paper lanterns and torches. It was a spectacular sight, as the glowing lights brought strict shapes like circles, squares, and triangles to life in the dark.

However, the local citizens and authorities were so infuriated by this nocturnal, experimental cult of light that it became one of the official reasons the school was eventually forced out of Weimar.
